A young girl crafted bracelets out of $3 K-Mart clay and the reason has given us all those feels.
When Kerri Bevis took her daughter Sadie, then just 3 years old, on a hospital visit, she had no idea the following events would later unfold. Tip: Now is the time to grab an onion in case anyone passing by asks why you’re crying.
A week after the hospital visit, Kerri decided to show Sadie how to make bracelets from the Polymer Oven Baked Clay she received for Christmas. Kerri proceeded to ask a simple question, never expecting the answer to move her close to tears.
Kerri asked, “who do you want to make the bracelets for?”
“I want to make them for the sick kids in the hospital to make them feel happy again,” Sadie replied.
Over the next two months, with mum by her side to help with the “tricky bits”, Sadie made over 60 bracelets and visited the Monash Children’s Hospital to personally deliver them.

I’m not crying… you are *holds up onion*.
“Making these bracelets from scratch is quite time consuming so the patience and persistence she showed to make these for other people was genuinely moving”

For Sadie, donating the bracelets to Monash Children’s Hospital “was an easy choice” as it had a special place in her and her parent’s hearts. Sadie had experienced being a patient there herself after having kidney complications since birth.
It doesn’t end there…
Students from Flinders Christian Community College, where both Sadie’s parents teach, wanted to get involved with Sadie’s mission by donating money, in exchange for bracelets. Over the next 8 weeks, a now 4-year-old Sadie, made 110 ‘Sadie Bracelets’ – as they became known. She raised almost $600, which she donated to the Paediatric Department of the Monash Children’s Hospital.
Sadie is now five years old and continues to spread happiness by teaming up with her mum to show us how to make our very own ‘Sadie Bracelets’ at home.
In fact, Sadie and her mum made their own instructional video!
