It’s no secret that Kmart’s packaging for online orders leaves much to be desired.
Anybody who has ever dabbled in the fine art of Kmart’s online shopping process has had to face a few hard truths.
One: if you want an item, buy it immediately, as it will be sold out in exactly 38 hot seconds.
Two: Your whole order will never be sent in the one package.
Three: The box that your items are sent in will be a thousand times larger than necessary.
And true to their reputation, Kmart has pulled through with the goods for shopper, Samantha Lai. Samantha shared a post in a Kmart Facebook Group, showing the arrival of her latest Kmart purchase. To say she was surprised by the choice of packaging would certainly be an understatement.
Samatha ordered a bath bomb from Kmart’s website, so when a Kmart package arrived at her door, she wasn’t too surprised. That is, until she noticed a massive discrepancy between the size of the box and the size of the item she had ordered.
While the bath bomb matched Samantha’s expectations, the size of the package left her scratching her head.
“Not a hack… but so glad my bath bomb arrived safe and sound” – Samantha Lai
Not the first time for Kmart
It seems Kmart has built up a fair bit or notoriety for their packaging habits.
Another member of the same Facebook Group, responded: “I had the same thing with a tiny book. So funny!!! Good to see they’re not worried about delivery cost.”
While many had a laugh about the packaging failure, a few members pointed out the concerning issue that the needless packaging ignores. One member stated, “This is an absolute disgrace they don’t care about our planet at all.”
On the bright side though, it does seem that Kmart really do care about getting bath bombs to their shoppers in tip-top shape!
