Creating the perfect nursery for your baby before they arrive is usually met with two conflicting emotions: sheer excitement and a massive case of the CBFs. K-Mart, yet again, comes to the rescue!
Just in case you needed a fresh, new excuse to hop into your car and race off to K-Mart, they’ve pulled through with some amazing ways to personalise your baby’s room. The nursery inspiration is endless with K-Mart fanatics meeting online to share hacks.
The beauty of K-Mart is that they have so many items that can be used in hundreds of ways. I literally bought a bathroom trolley for my kitchen the other day. If you’re ever stuck for ideas, there are over 180,000 K-Mart fanatics on the KMART HACKS AND DECOR Facebook Group, waiting to share their clever, outside-the-box ideas.
Hack #1: Shoe Storage
Store shoes by pairing ivy leaves with the round wall shelf. This is an adorable way to ensure easy access to all footwear for those *cough* all *cough* of us that have tossed dozens of shoes to the bottom of the wardrobe.
Hack #2: Wall Art
Hack #3: Nappy Station
Prepare the perfect nappy station by transforming a children’s storage unit into your go-to place for all things baby. This clever mum filled the book-storage section with nappies and then used the storage cubes for all other supplies, including wipes, lotions, clothes and more.
Hack #4: Clothes rack display
While clothes racks end up full as soon as baby arrives, this hack is a super cute way to display the cutest outfits waiting to be worn. Decorate the nursery clothes rack with ivy leaves to showcase your baby’s welcome-home outfit.
Hack #5: Marie Kondo meets K-Mart for storage
K-Mart has a massive range of storage tubs to choose from. Mix and match different shapes and sizes to accommodate all the cute little bits-and-pieces your little one will be wearing.
Fill baby’s drawers with storage tubs and – if you can be bothered – fold items up using the KonMari method for easy access.
Hack #6: Lighting feature
Hack #7: Personalised Mirror
Use a hexagon mirror, some letters/ numbers stickers and frosted glass spray (not from K-Mart, unfortunately) to create this personalised mirror. This makes an amazing feature for baby’s room.
Hack #8: Nappy Caddy
Turn a car boot organiser into the ultime nappy caddy. Not limited to nursery use, this bad boy can be used all over the house for those unexpected poonami explosions.
Hack #9: Baby Keepsake Frame
Hack #10: Unicorn Wall Feature
Even though most of us would totally make this for our own room, it’s super cute for your baby’s nursery, too. To make this unicorn feature, use a hula-hoop and decorate it with ivy leaves, string lights and artificial flowers. Finish it off with a unicorn head – although, K-Mart has heaps of equally funky things you can replace the unicorn with!
We all know that once the baby arrives, so does sleep deprivation and chaos. So, why not enjoy the exhaustion and madness of parenting with a super cute nursery?!
