If sparking joy doesn’t speak to you, move over Marie Kondo, because this mum is oh so relatable.
With over 70 thousand followers on TikTok, Tasha from Aspire Organizing, prides herself on not being perfect, she has a never-ending list of unfinished tasks, she agrees life can be (very) messy but she is here to help us to level up on our organising game.
As a mum of 2 girls how does she do it? Nap time? Bed time? Believe it or not, no! While these precious times are handy to catch up on tasks, these times are essential for some SELF CARE. Ok, I’m listening… how does she do it?
Here it is…
1. Write down your tasks
3. Regularly re-evaluate
Once you have written down your tasks, schedule them into blocks throughout the day, where only the tasks that need your ultimate attention should be done in those quiet times the kids are in bed. Otherwise schedule the tasks into your day but be realistic!
“In order to do this well, you also have to estimate realistic time-frames for how long something might take… The reality is that your life is happening RIGHT NOW though, so give yourself some grace and be flexible.” – Tasha, Aspire Organizing
Organising tips we love!
With her simple tips and instructions, we are all capable of achieving her #OrganisationGoals
Overwhelmed and not sure where to start? Tasha recommends beginning small. Organising small defined spaces that you use regularly, such as a junk draw or bedside table, will give you an “easy organising win”. If it’s a small space you use regularly, you will be able to “reap the benefits” each time you use it and will build your confidence to take on those bigger projects.
Stuffed Animal Bean Bag Storage
This has to be one of my favourite ideas. If your space is being overtaken by a mountain of stuffed animals, this functional storage works just like… you guessed it… a bean bag!
Sort That Bag!
Ever have the feeling that you remembered packing something but you just can’t seem to find it in your Mary Poppins Bag? These labelled pouches provide all the compartments you need.
Board Games Be Gone!
Have you managed to accumulate a tower of isolation puzzles and board games? This hack saves you a tonne of space!
Keep your filing simple and visible!
Portable Craft Station
This idea really would have come in handy over those distance learning days!
Freeze That Thought!
OK be honest, who thought file organisers were only for the office?
Now that you have organised your spaces, Tasha recommends creating routines to stay in control and maintain them.
“When you have kids, it can feel like things change on a weekly basis so just as soon as a system is working well for your family, it might be time for a new one. But that is the beauty of living an organized life… At the end of the day, it is so important to remember that leading an organized life is a journey… but a rewarding one. “- Tasha, Aspire Organizing
