A clever woman has created the easiest shopping bag hack that has revolutionised play-time.
We’re all guilty of having a stash of shopping bags shoved inside another shopping bag. Add to to that your childhood memories of playing shops and you’ve got yourself the recipe for the most innovative shopping bag hack.
Play-time genius, Bianca Haden, took to Facebook to share her success story, while looking after her 2-year-old sister, Emily, and her 4-year-old nephew, Oliver.
“I was recently babysitting my little sister and I was watching her play with the cash register and plastic food we got from Kmart”
“I was thinking to myself I wish they sold small grocery bags for kids to play with.”
Re-purposing plastic bags
Using one of the many plastic bags she had accumulated from Coles, Bianca got inventive and fashioned kid-friendly shopping bags. Equipped with baking supplies and her hair straightener, there was no stopping Bianca from making this play-time one to remember.
“So I went into my cupboard full of bags and decided to make some small bags for her to play with by measuring and cutting regular bags to size with scissors then clipping it in place while I wrap it in baking paper and using a hair straightener to seal it on all 3 edges.”
Bianca was proud of her efforts, which didn’t go unnoticed. Emily and Oliver loved their new shopping bags, while playing shops.
“They are super cute and I am in love with them”
In the name of safety, Bianca also added a suggestion to ensure the newly designed shopping bags aren’t a danger to young children.
“Just to be on the safe side you can punch holes in them and you can always adjust the opening at the top so little heads can’t fit in them”
