I’ve been thinking about laser hair removal for a while.
Do I need to go to a salon? What actually happens? Does it hurt? So when I was offered the chance to review a laser hair removal kit – at home! – I said yes straight away.
And then … all the questions arose again, because I’m a total novice at this stuff. Maybe that makes me the perfect reviewer? Anyway, away I went.
Opened the box and the first thing I see is a nice big instruction book (because I love clear, concise instructions). I made sure I read through it all, but I was still unsure. It said I needed to shave first (not wax). Really? But the explanation as to why was clear, and on I went, set to start in earnest the next day.
I plugged in the unit and got ready. To be completely honest, when I started using the Selfie Skin, I freaked out a bit. The flash unnerved me and made me wonder if I was doing it correctly (I did say I was an amateur). But after the first few minutes, I could see this was how it worked, it didn’t hurt at all, and I felt confident to keep going. The one thing it says in the instructions is not to look at the flashes. That can be hard to obey when you’re trying to work out which bits you’ve done already. For my first outing with the Selfie Skin I started with my legs.
As I go on and get more confident, I’ll try other areas and report back!
